January 18, 1964- Gary Davis' first West Coast performance? check out the amazing list of people who were in this Sing In For Peace at Carnegie Hall in 1965 Thanks to Alan Balfour for sending this in.  The lucky dog got to attend some of these shows! Unfortunately, Mississippi John Hurt didn't actually make this tour Thanks to Bud Mall for sending this.  He got to attend this fesitval and took some great photos!

The lineup at this festival was amazing.  The Philadelphia Folk Festival has been a major institution of American folk music Note the appearance of Barbara Dane.  She sings one song with the Gary Davis on the LP, 'Let Us Get Together'.  There is a cd of her and Lightnin Hopkins together live at the Cabale (Arhoolie Records).  Go hear her if she plays near you!
